The wire chamber gas has tripped off two more times (and been promptly reset by us). Jack Segal came in and explained that the system has a pressure sensor in the hall that is sensitive to relative pressure drops.
The wind gusts from Hurricane Dennis are tripping off the wire chamber gas alarms (and may continue to do so throughout the day).
