19 March 2003 ------------- Kees de Jager - The first septum magnet is presently being cooled down. If all goes well, it should be at 4K by Friday and testing of the magnet's properties can begin. Work on the second septum magnet is continuing and we are expecting the magnet to arrive in May. Of course the Hall schedule is dependent on this delivery date. If the septum is slightly delayed, we will wait; if it is significantly delayed, we will set-up a standard experiment. On the present schedule, G0 running and the Hypernuclear experiment are planned for the same run period. Tests are planned in the coming weeks to test if a small energy spread can be achieved with the injector set-up for G0. The 12GeV upgrade is still on hold until the head of the Office of Science makes his decision. The Hall A poster is being updated. Any suggestions for new figures should be sent to Kees. Eric Voutier - The PAC24 review schedule will be as follows: April 07 Proposal due to CC, send to reviewers April 14 1st review due to CC, send to the spokesperson(s) April 21 Revised Proposal due to CC, send to reviewers April 23 2nd review due to CC, send to the spokesperson(s) April 25 CC final decision If a proposal is not being significantly changed and already has collaboration status, it does not need to be reviewed again. Dave and Kathy will take care of organizing the review. Doug and Eric's terms will end in July, so new Hall A CC elections will need to be held. Previous CC members are eligible. Eric will take care of announcing and conducting the election. The tentative date for the next Hall A meeting is July 10 & 11. Since this will be after PAC24, a special practice session will be organized on June 10th. For the upcoming DNP meeting, it was suggested that a session on (e,e'p) and/or N->Delta be proposed. Possible speakers include Paul Ulmer, Doug Higinbotham, Mark Jones, and Adam Sarty.
