Target lab status:
- Review of cell characterization:
- Duke: Wall Thickness and Density done by Vince
- Brunhilde: Wall Thickness done by Vince, no Density yet
- Exodus: nothing has been measured yet.
- Report by Vince, click here
Target/g2n analysis:(Kevin)
g2n:
- RC
- fit gn1: used Seonho's and Xiaochao's fits.
- false asymetry
A1n analysis:(Xiaochao)
Try a new way to simulate the cross section: data 15% higher than simulation --> something must be wrong?

Target lab status:
- Report by Vince, click here
- Report by Patricia:
1) almost done coding
2) waiting for AFP loss data from UVA
3) EPR: performed test on RF effect on EPR frequency
4) doing a lifetime test with RF at 2.0 Vrms
5) working on Optics but problem with "optimize"
Target/g2n analysis:(Kevin)
1) g2n:
- window false asymetries with window cut --> good Chi2
- window false asymetries with good electron cut --> can maybe be improved
2) target:
- finishing up errors on NMR
--> from water calibration: 1.3% stat. and 2.4% syst.
--> from EPR-NMR calibration: 1.2% stat. and 2.4% syst.
A1n analysis:(Xiaochao)
1) check Delta asymmetry: sign for Aperp was wrong.
2) N2 pressure in Gore:
- remove "empty cell" run because unreliable pressure reading
- add 1 psig error to pressure gauge reading
- d= 0.1073 +/- 0.056 (Left), 0.1337 +/- 0.056 amg (Right). UVA: 0.0773 amg.
--> overestimation due to 3He "super elastic" under N2 peak.
3) External radiative correction:
Internally radiated g1, g2 in the range of
- 0.2 < x < 0.9 and 0.6 < y < 0.8
- for each Q2 (2.2, 6.6)
- one single Ebeam= 5.7284 (GeV)
--> results: DApara ~ -0.06%
4) cross section: simulated always lower than data.

Target lab status:
- Report by Vince, click here
- calculation from Steve Lassiter on the field gradient with field clamp+septum: (dBz/dy)max = 25 mG/cm
- Report by Patricia:
1) code for Temperature Test Analysis is finished
--> now: looking at error
2) working on improving several other codes
3) working on Optics: half-way on Left Arm Analysis.
- Report by Alexandre and Todd:
1) microscopic study of the inner surface of cells with an SEM will be done at UVA and at W&M.
2) UVA:
- last cell lost: the T failed (strange because no stress at this place).
--> might have a crack because there was a problem with this cell to bring at low pressure.
- new filling design from Al Tobias: will test it on a sphere. If good lifetime, fill an Ice-cone cell with the same method.
Target/g2n analysis:(Kevin)
1) g2n:
- false asymmetry on the window.
- radiative correction: looked at kinematics that contribute for each point.
--> GDH data good for the two lower Q2 points.
2) target:
- plot manifold volume measured with GetVolume
--> manifold volume is larger for measurements after fill.
- H1 study: width of NMR signal different between Tilghman and Shapiro.
A1n analysis:(Xiaochao)
1) finalize elastic analysis
- To make Left and Right agree, had to take for the wall ticknesses:
Gore: 1.7mm(L), 1.44mm(R)
Ref. cell: 1.60mm(L), 1.44mm(R)
- Apar: combined asymmetry and simulation agree in 1 sigma.
- beam polarization: Moller gives always higher polarization: 4% absolute difference between Moller and Compton.
2) N2 dilution: N2 fill pressure for Gore is 0.14amg from elastic analysis and 0.07 from UVA measurements.
Plan: asymmetry in the Delta region. Check transverse Aperp.
GDH analysis:(Karl)
1) included full radiative correction in QFS code and tested it for several nuclei:
carbon:
- cross section data from Bates
--> agreement within 10% with his code.
--> no normalization for carbon
- data from Slac
--> very good agreement.
hydrogen:
- cross section data from Desy
--> good agreement.
2) will put carbon form factors into Rosetail to compute the elastic tail
for final comparison between the carbon data and the modified QFS code.
