Wednesday, September 29, 2004; 10:30 - 11:30 attendees: T.Averett, M.Bellis, G.Cates, A.Gavalya, D.Higinbotham, A.Kelleher, A.Kolarkar, B.Reitz, A.Semenov, N.Thompson, B.Wojtsekhowski 1) Gen Collaboration Meeting scheduled for December 14, 2004 2) Introduction of Neil Thompson, our grad. student from Glasgow. He will be on site until December, to work with BR on software for N20, and will work on software (analysis + simulation) for the neutron detector. He reports, that John Annand will come early November, and the detectors from Glasgow should arrive at JLab in Mid November. They are currently tested at Glasgow. Timing resolutions of 125ps (sigma) have been achieved. 3) Introduction of Matt Bellis, postdoc from CMU. He will be working on the neutron detector, especially on the CMU type bars. Again they will come in November. 4) TA informs us, that Tim Holmstrom should be available soon for working on the GEn experiment for some period (until Happex requires him back), and asks if there is a good project. 5) BW reports: - Hakob Voskanyan is nearly done with his work on the veto bars - Albert Shahinyan will organize and arrange the newly available space in the TestLab - airflow for the N20 setup in the Hall is installed however at this time the distribution of sufficient airflow to the full N200 setup is not yet worked out - N200 design: the design for the cage is expected to be finished by October 15, so that hopefully we can order it Mid November - due to the forced delay of the requisition of the BigBite detector frame, the design could be updated, a lot of tolerances had been very tight, the design is updated with relaxed requirements - which should make the frame cheaper. It will go out for bid, and should be here in Feb. 05 - the first UVA drift chamber is back in operation for cosmic tests - Man power issues for the BigBite detector work are discussed. - Plans to test the UVA drift chamber during the SRC experiment are discussed 6) We are still looking for 15k USD needed for the remaining parts of the trigger scintillator plane. GC will inquire if he can get money from DOE. 7) AG shows some drawings for target work and reports that he works with the engineers/designers from ACC on the cage for the neutron arm 8) DH reports on the status of BigBite: the SRC experiment will be installed in December 2004. BigBite magnet is in the Hall, and is waiting to be powered up, some electrical safety issues have to be resolved, before this test. 9) GC inquires about the document for the readyness review. BR will take care of it (meaning ask people to contribute) 10) discussion about manpower 11) meeting adjourned, people are getting hungry
