Transversity On-Site Meeting Minutes April 3rd, 2006. In room B101. CEBAF center. 10:00am-10:30am. Attended by: Doug Higinbotham, Brad Sawatzky, Tim Holmstrom, Xiaodong Jiang,Xin Qian, Xiaofeng Zhu, Huan Yao, Kalyan Allada (student from U. Kentucky). Recorded by Xiaodong Jiang. 1. 3rd pair of target coils. UIUC group got all the dimensions and specs. Will move for quote. Dave Howell (student from UIUC) will make a short presentation on the vertical coils status on April 11th. 2. Target Lab. Xiaofeng. Practiced repairing of burned fiber. Don't know how to put on non-reflecting coating at the end of fiber, power loss 3%. Target heater is ready, oven need to replace a few parts to take high heat. Will move to hybrid cell test once oven is ready. 3. BigBite design. Doug will act on BigBite right foot design items. Other items on BigBite to put on wait until this item is done. 4. Brad. Will interact with Al on gas Cherenkov dimensions for d2n. 5. Xin. BigBite ep elastic optics Gen data analysis. 1st Q2, momentum resolution sigma=1.6%. Other kinematics similar. zt resolution for Gen, BB at 56 degree. sigma_zt=0.7 cm. Translated to transversity, BB at 30 degree, sigma_zt=1.2 cm. Not bad. Pion rejection through shower-preshower offline cuts. For a run with 3uA beam, about 2.8% pions survived the cut. However, for a run with 1 uA beam, less than 1% pions survived the cuts. Indicating that offline analysis can be polished more with "track related" ADC-sum. 6. Tim. One broken Lumi detector repaired, installed. Will setup Happex DAQ take test. Two other Lumis still being used by Doug. No big deal for the test setup. 7. Kalyan Allada and Chiranjib Dutta (both from Kentucky) have been taking shifts. Learned on-line data replay and detector monitoring. 8. Space arrangement in test Lab. Doug, Brad and Xiaodong discussed after the meeting on space arrangement in the Test Lab. Doug send the xfig file of test lab space. Not an easy task indeed. 9. May BB optics test run. Gen's plan after April 30th is not clear yet. They might want to collect more data on low-Q2 point. The kinematics will be perfect for our BB 1.5 meter drift optics test run. Hall B wants to run at 1 GeV (1.05 ?) in early May. 10. Moving of BigBite detectors and related items to the test lab after Gen. We will start detailed activity planning. Doug to contact Nilanga on safe ways of moving BB wire chambers. 11. Collaboration meeting on April 11th. No major item of difficulty is in sight yet, just many small items need people to spend time working on.
