keyword=Run Plan for Wed 13 SWING -> Thurs 14 DAY
Last night (swing and owl) was dominated by elastic-H and carbon optics
data taking, primarily for calibration and debugging of the LHRS.
The last pieces of the Arc energy system were checked out this morning
and verified to be working. We'll run an energy measurement on either
Thursday or Friday.
The bulk of day shift today was spent in controlled access. During that
time the following work was done:
- changed the LHRS polarity to positive
- moved the Calorimeter to the elastics position
- investigated and corrected some LHRS trigger timing issues
- added pulser to ARS to help debugging
- continued debugging studies of the calorimeter readout and trigger
- finished checking the RG213 calorimeter cables for
problems/reflections (all OK)
UPCOMING SHIFTS:
This evening (Swing and Owl) will be focused on debugging/commissioning
the Calorimeter and combined DAQ. It will be largely expert-driven
(Alex, Carlos, Julie, etc).
Megan also expressed interest in having a few escorted accesses to the
Hall to help complete her Compton work. These will be arranged
opportunistically with the above experts.
THURSDAY DAY shift will be largely consumed by beam studies. Another
attempt at finishing the BCM calibration will be made either at the
start of beam studies, or immediately after it completes (final schedule
will be set at the 8am meeting).
Assuming the BCM calibration is successful, one of the first things to
be done when beam returns (late DAY, early SWING) will be:
* Lumi linearity test (Kalyan)
- should take about an hour, Kalyan has a well-defined run plan
* possible Arc energy measurement either Thursday afternoon?
Calorimeter and DAQ commissioning will then continue.
LONGER TERM ITEMS:
* Arc energy measurement either Thursday afternoon or on Friday
* Moller measurement tentatively scheduled for Friday
* A full spin dance will be defered to next week
* LHRS polarity back to negative (on Friday if ready, otherwise Monday)
