keyword=ComptonDAQ with random pulser
Today I obtained a random pulser (BNC model DB-2).
It reaches 1.3 MHz and is random in time.
To test beyond 1.3 MHz, I mix this (analog "or") with a fixed-rate
pulser.
The data quality is invariant with rate, except that at high rates
some pulses are small. But this is not an FADC problem. It's a
property of the pulsers or the NIM electronics.
The maximum rate (for zero deadtime) appears to be 500 kHz,
see fig 1 (live time vs rate)
and fig 2 (observed rate vs input rate).
