General Overview

The Charge Monitor is composed of a Parametric Current Transformer (also refered as Unser Monitor) surrounded by two resonnant cavities (also called BCMs for Beam Current Monitors).

To run the control interface for the charge monitor:

• Logon on the hac computer (account hacuser, for password ask the run coordinator) and type HAC_hp if you are on HP machine or HAC_xt if you are on X terminal.
• Startup display will show up:

It summaries information about all the magnets, detectors and instruments. To get to the Current Monitor screen, click on the BCM button. The following screen will appear:

Calibration Instructions

• From the Hall A BCM screen, pull the Calibration screen:

  

• Call the accelerator people and organize the BCM calibration.
• Once they are ready to perform the calibration cycle, press START button
• Once they are done with the cycle, press STOP button: the two coefficients and their standard deviations should update.
