Meeting held at JLab in room 16/84 from 10am to 12am with:
Bogdan,  Sue, Jeff, Charles, Tom and Franck

    Report

    • RTV cookie/mold: The 25-cookie mold is done. I asked the machine shop to polish the holes better, so I will have it next tuesday (or so they told me).

    •
    • Pb-glass radiation damage: David has done the measurements, but he didn't attend the meeting. Bogdan will organize another test, trying to protect the Pb-glass block with different thickness of lucite (1/4" 1/2" 1" and 2").

    •
    • Cooling system: Tom is currently designing the manifold for the cooling system. Bogdan suggested we use only moderately flexible hoses with cheap plastic elbows, so we don't have to worry about hoses which would tend to collapse.

    •
    • Gain monitoring system: There are 3 strategies we can adopt for the gain monitoring system:
        • Fiber straigth in from behind (reflexion on opposite side)
        • Fiber with light diffused in the cookie (to avoid straight light)
        • LED straight in, just like the first strategy, but less expensive
There is no budget for a gain monitoring system, and the only thing we need to settle pretty fast is the titanium flange. One of the hole may host the optical fiber or the LED, and depending on the strategy, we might have to change its design.

    • Parts ordering: The JLab account is not setup yet. Charles will make sure it's done soon so we can start ordering the parts.

    •
    • Circuit board: I have committed the requested changes to the circuit board, and will order 5 of those at the end of this week, so we can practice the soldering.

    •
    • Production instructions: The responsible persons need to write production instructions for ALL the small jobs, like gluing the titanium flange, circuit board/wires soldering, cookie production and so on.

    •
    • Long Al tube holding system: Jeff has been working on improving Hakob's holding system for the long aluminum tube. It seems it would cost less to prepare those tubes in ODU than asking some manufacturer to do the work. The ring which holds everything would have to be ordered though, it's very time consuming.

    •
    • Task list and timeline: During this meeting, we mostly reviewed all the tasks that need to be done, who will work on them, how much time it should take and where the work will take place (JLab, ODU, ...). Please take a look at the dedicated page.
