Meeting held at JLab in room 16/84 from 10am to 12am with:
Jeff, Sue, Tom, Charles, Bogdan, Eugene, Alan, Mike, Pierre, Albert and Franck

    Report

    • RTV cookie/mold: The cookie is indeed bigger than the titanium flange and therefore would need to be cut once on the PMT. Jeff and Charles will try to cut it several ways. If cutting is not practical enough, we can get a smaller diameter mold.

    •
    • Parts ordering: Artush, Albert and I worked on getting standard drawings of the mechanical parts. I gave the drawings to Larry yesterday so he can start looking for local manufacturers as a starting point. We will probably have quotations by next week. For the springs, I will get the last quotation Bogdan asked for and go on from there.

    •
    • Circuit board: The circuits boards I ordered are ready. The components are not yet available though. I've got quotations for both the circuit board and the components. We chose to order 50 circuit boards with a 5-day delivery time and 750 more with a 2-week delivery time. This will cost us approximately $2,800, which is below what we expected ($3,750). For the components, after I've checked what we order is the correct MIL spec, I'll go ahead and place the order. Some components might come later than others.

    •
    • Gain monitoring system: Pierre told us the Xenon lamp at SLAC is a property of Clermont which is a good news. I'll ask if we could borrow it for gain monitoring tests this summer.

    •
    • Energy resolution tests: Eugene gave us an extensive report on the energy resolution tests performed during last run of HAPPEX. The bottom line is that the Pb-glass blocks are indeed damaged, the resolution degraded from sigma_E/E=7%/sqrt(E) to 10.6%/sqrt(E) (we ommit the constant term on purpose). For more information, contact Eugene. We will try to use a 25-block array in the Moller apparatus for further measurements next time.

    •
    • Cooling system: Tom showed us what the 25-block array cooling system prototype looked like. He told us he expected it to be finished real soon and it will definitely be ready for the august test run.
