Meeting held at JLab in room 16/84 from 10am to 12am with:
Jeff, Clive, Tom, Bogdan, Eugene, Alan, Mike, Albert, Artush and Franck

    Report

    • RTV cookie/mold: Bogdan showed us some possible test of the optical coupling through reflexion of a laser ray (reflexions at transition between the cookie and the lead glass would indicate a bad optical coupling). It seems that the cookies made with the last mold were not giving a good optical coupling. Either the force applied with the string is too small or the meniscus is just too small too (remember, it's the first time we actually check this new cookie). The new mold is supposed to arrive either on friday this week or early next week.

    •
    • Parts ordering(drawing/ordering): Artush just gave me the last revision of his drawings. I will check them and if everything is all right, we will go on with price estimates for the parts.

    •
    • Circuit board/Components: The circuit board will actually be ordered only thursday this week, due to busy schedules of electronics group. The components will be ordered at the same time. The first 50 will be received and have to be checked at the end of next week.

    •
    • Cooling system: The cheap connectors for the hoses Tom ordered will arrive with a few days delay. It's only a 3 hour work to get everything together once we got those.

    •
    • Tube cutting at ODU: Clive, helped by Jeff has cut quite a lot of tubes already (PMT housing and circuit board housing). Jeff is currently programming the milling machine to cute the J hook in the bigger tube. He will show us samples as soon as it is done.

    •
    • Pb-glass block measurements: Albert redid the measurements of the perpendicularity YerPhi did, with a better equipment. The bottomline is, there are ~10% bad blocks, which is about what we need to put on the outer part of the calorimeter. We also have to measure all the blocks to improve the database YerPhi did. Albert proposed Clive could do some measurements every time he's in JLab (20 measurements took 3 hours...). I also requested last time to have a few PMT's measured, so we know what kind of spring we want to accomodate the length difference. The maximum difference in length for 32 PMT's is about 3mm, which is definitely manageable.
