Meeting held at JLab in room 16/84 from 10am to 12am
with:
Jeff, Clive, Tom, Charles, Bogdan, Eugene, Alan, Albert,
Artush and Franck
Report
-
RTV cookie/mold: Albert has made measurements of the curvature of
the meniscus for each hole in the new mold. It turns out, the hand polishing
is responsible for sometimes huge differences in the radius of the meniscus,
making quite different cookies. Jeff will try to make cookies anyway and
we will check the quality of the optical coupling for the cookies.
-
Parts ordering: Albert told us there was a problem with the length
of the holes in the socket frame. Artush will modify the drawing so this
problem is corrected. I will give the new drawings to Larry. We should
have "realistic" quotations from Larry at the end of next week.
-
Circuit board/Components: I have received the 50 first samples of
the circuit board. It turns out the board's tolerance are too tight to
go easily in the aluminum can. Also, the soldering pads have been covered
with the green varnish. The boards are usable (scratch the varnish off
and take off a few mils on the side), but I will modify the boards so the
next batch is corrected (that will cost addiotional money though).
-
Cooling system: Tom will show us his system next week. No news from
Albert for the real size prototype.
-
Updated task list: The task
list and timetable have been updated.
-
Monitoring system: Eugene will ask about the monitoring system they
used in the RadPhi detector to start with.
