Meeting held at JLab in room 16/84 from 10am to 12am with:
Jeff, Bogdan, Eugene, Albert, Artush, Armen, Ting and Franck

    Report

    • RTV cookie/mold: The new "test" mold is okay, except for one hole, which has the wrong meniscus radius. It will be tested soon. Also Bogdan wants to test the properties of optical grease, in case the cookie project isn't successful soon enough. For that, he would like to bring a system to about 80 degrees celsius and see if the optical grease leaks. If not, it would be a good replacement solution in case we can't get the cookie mold to act as we want.

    •
    • Circuit board/Components soldering: Jeff gave Albert a few soldered circuit boards. Albert noticed that a few components were not soldered on the right side of the circuit board, making it difficult to solder the HV and signal cables. Clive/Jeff will commit the modifications on the CBs already soldered.

    •
    • Monitoring system: Because Artush is designing the calorimeter frame (and he needs to be finished before he departs), we need to give him some indication about how to incorporate the gain monitoring system to this, especially if it is a sheet of plastic in front of the calorimeter (how to attach it, how to provide the light tightness, and so on...).

    •
    • "Small" supplies: We need to order the necessary Mylar sheets, Kepton, heat shrinkable plastic tubes, wires (soldered on the socket and the board).

    •
    • Calorimeter layout: Artush showed us his work on the calorimeter frame. Please go talk to him for more information, since the explanation requires to see the drawings he has made. The discussion led us to talk about when and where we will put the blocks in the frame. Bogdan thinks it's better to do it in the test lab before driving the whole thing in the hall. This requires to think of the security, how to transport it, make sure the blocks don't slip (because of the slope in the tunnel to go to the hall) and/or break.
