Meeting held at JLab in room 16/84 from 10am to 11:30am
with:
Ting, Albert, Armen, Edward, Samuel, Bogdan, Eugene,
Charles and Franck
Report
-
Cables/connectors for base: HV cables are in the physics storage
room in the EEL. 30 HV connectors are there also, more are ordered. Signal
cables are ordered and should arrive soon.
-
Springs ordering: I have requested a quote from Smalley. Here
are the specs I asked for:
-
Outside diameter: 1.402" - 1.418"
-
Inside diameter: 1.000" minimum
-
Load: 10 lbs @ 0.8" work height
-
Free height: less than 1.25", 1" reference
The delivery is possible 5 weeks after print approval. The cost will be
approximately $2.50 per spring, assuming we order 800 of those.
-
Ti flange gluing: 40 flanges have been glued so far. The present
rate is 8/day. The rate should be 20/day in permanent regime. We plan to
test the gluing (with a 8kg normal force) on 10% of the first samples
to be sure the production technic is good.
-
Tests of Ti flange gluing: Albert has applied 16kg during
a week longitudinally on the block, without any problem (the force we plan
to apply in that direction is about 5kg). Transversaly (tork), the
gluing can stand up to 5kg at 40cm (more than enough).
-
Sockets/pins gluing: 60 sockets are ready so far. No problem
with that.
-
Gain monitoring system: Eugene asked for a quotation on a
laser similar to what PRIMEX (Hall C) bought. In the meantime, we borrowed
the laser from them for tests.
-
DAQ: Ting reports that he setup the readout of fastbus in
the EEL building and it works fine, except for a hardware problem, that
he is currently investigating. Illinois has ordered the special VME crate
needed for the trigger suppervisor.
-
Collaboration meeting(s): We plan to have a "working group"
meeting sometimes in november in JLab (while Alan is there). Charles accepted
to set it up. Also during the Hall A collaboration meeting in december,
we plan to present the status of the photon arm.
