Attendees: Bogdan, Al (via speakerphone), Mike, Albert, Dmitri, Edik,
Eugene
Albert-
-working on the design for the cable trays for the bottom part of the
platform. They should be all designed and built in 3 weeks.
-testing of the connections on the DAQ platform over the next couple
weeks.
-Tom Hunyady is helping Mike Wimbish with making cables and HV boxes.
-prototype for cable car is finished.
Bogdan-
-Paul Brindza is working on a safety recommendation for the "swinging
rm'
-Optics tests-
-went up to 4.1 GeV with no problems with anything
-4.30 was the max they could go because of inadequate cooling for the
power supply for quadrupole magnet Q1.
-O-16 experiment in October will work at 4.1 GeV. Maybe we can make
further optics tests then.
- Needs and ways to 'align' main platform to horizontal reference and
then align the veto mount.
Dmitri-
-15 bad bases found. This is particularly disturbing in light of the
fact that David found signals in ALL 235 bases. Vladimir Popov will start
troubleshooting next Tuesday. Mike gave Dmitri several of the unmodified
bases for use temporarily if necessary.
-Plan to put detector on platform to see how cables will have to be
arranged.
-Once splitters are mounted, would like to test with laser light.
-We need to test the detector fully when it is in place (Note from Mike:
this must include temperature tests. David was not able to complete them,
and we must make sure we don't forget about that. Since we will need to
access the inside of the frame to place the temperature sensors, this
might be a good time to inspect/remount detectors as necessary.)
Eugene-
-Will soon give drawings to designer for the laser light distribution
> system for GMS. Then he can order parts, assemble and test.
> -Roman is leaving soon; he will present the results of his work next week
> -Radiation effect on HV supply study: 8 TLD were placed on HV racks
to check power supply stability. Initial tests were inconclusive,
due perhaps in part to losing track of which detector was where.
Armen-
-working on ROOT analyzer for RCS calorimeter, veto and MWPC.
Also in part of HRS detector - trigger, cherenkovs, shower and clusters in
VDC.
- presently analyzer decodes data, builds clusters, 5x5 but this
size can be adjusted to account for skewing near the edges.
- only ONE high amplitude cluster considered per event, determined
by lead-glass block with largest signal.
Al-
-have approximately 10 completed HV boxes
-fixing wiring problem is going fairly quickly
-plan on having all complete by end of June
-Areg will bring down what is ready when he comes in mid-June for HUGS
Physics talk - Mike about kinematics of two body reaction.
