Introduction

These procedures are intended as detailed descriptions of the various tasks operators of the TJNAF Polarized $^{3}$He target will perform on shift. All target operators should be familiar with these procedures before taking a shift as a target operator. For a description of the target system you should (and are required to read) the Target Operations Safety Procedures. For a general description of the physics of the target the theses of Steffen Jensen, Ioannis Kominis or Mike Romalis are all available on the E99-117 or E97-103 Web Sites. Alternatively, all your questions can be answered by the friendly target experts on site.
