Minutes: SBS Meeting May 9, 2012

1.	Bogdan wants us to spread the news that the SBS PMP has gotten an oral “ready to 
proceed” from DOE (see link)
2.	Bogdan leads discussion of SBS contribution to the Hall A Collaboration meeting, June 7-
8.

i.	Review of SBS capabilities (Gordon Cates tentative)
ii.	Experiment updates
1.	GEp5 (Vina Punjabi ?)

b.	Want a quarter day session preferably on the 1st day. John LeRose will explore 
with CC.
3.	Web pages for SBS?
a.	Mark Jones has setup an SBS Wiki
i.	Go to the Hall A Wiki, go to experiments, go to SBS
ii.	Suggestion is to have experiments subsection and equipment 
subsection (equipment often spans more than one experiment)
4.	Bogdan Wojtsekhowski reviews his talk at the Caraguatatuba – QCD Conference (link)
5.	News re Hera-B calorimeter, due to a shift in plans for FAIR, it moves out to 2018, it 
should be easier for us to get the calorimeter (we should be done with it and can give it 
back before 2018).
6.	Bogdan asks for suggestions for topics of future meetings
a.	Gordon suggests rotating through major subsystems
b.	Keep meetings to <1 hour
c.	Nilanga can give a talk on GEM’s maybe June 13.
