Minutes: SBS Meeting July 30, 2014

1) Alexandre discussed use of VETROC (FPGA module with 64 inputs, or
   128 with mezzanines).  Will look into programming them to operate
   as high resolution (~10 ps) TDC.

2) Guido showed progress made by improving grounding configuration
   on Si microstrips.  Signal to noise is greatly improved.

3) Nilanga presented results from tests of solution to problem of
   honeycomb layer of GEMs bowing under gas pressure.  Effects were
   largely eliminated by adding gas window on other side and
   pressurizing the trapped volume with gas input. 

   Bogdan was concerned trapped volume could hold contaminants which
   slowly enter chamber volume.  Nilanga agreed to add exit valve
   which could be left open to continually change the gas in this
   volume or at least opened to flush the volume when needed.

4) Mark gave a demonstration of the document database (which is now 
   linked from the SBS homepage) and encouraged its use.
