Minutes: SBS Meeting October 2, 2013 Attendees: John LeRose, Brian Quinn, Mitra Hashemi Shabestari, Doug Higinbotham, Bogdan Wojtsekhowski, John Annand, Gregg Franklin, Evaristo Cisbani, Gordon Cates, Alexandre Camsonne, Adam Sarty, Carlos Ayerbe Gayoso, Mark Jones, Vina Punjabi 1) Bogdan Wojtsekhowski announces: a) the DOE review of SBS will happen (November 4-5) : i) Panel exists (expect a list by the end of the week) ii) The agenda will be developed in the next few days b) Space has been allocated in the Testlab for various SBS related tasks. Still not optimum. Working with Walt Akers to improve. Need to know how much electric power is needed for each endeavor. 2) We review various one slide presentations in anticipation of needing them for the DOE review. a) Alexandre Camsonne shows slide on Fastbus DAQ progress i) See link ii) Comments: (1) Needs more overview (2) Mention building on an existing system (3) Acronyms are overused iii) Alex will update and circulate b) Gregg Franklin shows slide on HCAL-J i) See linkpptx or linkpdf ii) Comments: (1) Add some cost and parameters information (2) Mention that it has been totally taken over by Carnegie-Mellon (no more Dubna) c) Evaristo Cisbani shows slide on the Front Tracker i) See link (1) Comments: (a) Need a description of the detector (b) Add resources and INFN involvement (c) Projected readiness for experiments d) Gordon Cates has no slide prepared but asks good questions about what exactly the thrust of his slide should be. i) Will know better when we have the agenda/charge to the panel ii) Gordon will put something together and circulate it e) Mark Jones has no slide, but says he and Charles Perdrisat will put something together on ECAL and circulate it 3) We revisit the experiment slides a) Evaristo Cisbani presents a slide on GEp (link) b) Brian Quinn shows slides on GMn (his) and GEn (Seamus') (Link GMn and link GEn) i) Should use consistent language on the two slides ii) Remove ?'s iii) dt ~ 0.5 ns (should be consistent throughout) iv) clarify the trigger v) Target length should be 60 cm -JJL
