Minutes: SBS Meeting Nov 12, 2014 Agenda: Bogdan - Results from DOE review, Bogdan - Discussion: Detector electronics responsibilities Attendees: Adam Sarty, Alexandre Camsonne, Charles Perdrisat, Freddy Obrecht, John Annand, Mitra Hashemi Shabestari, Mark Jones, Seamus Riordan, Carlos Ayerbe Gayoso, Mahbub Khandaker, Brian Quinn, Gregg Franklin,Nilanga Liyanage, Vladimir Nelyubin, Bogdan Wojtsekhowski, Evaristo Cisbani, Guido Urciuoli, Konrad Aniol, Vahe Mamyan. 1) Bogdan - Results from DOE review. Positive. SBS can be used for experiment not anticipated before. 2) Bogdan - Discussion: Detector electronics responsibilities. Need careful design of timings. Everisto gave detailed description of GEM detector timing and started designing DAQ. Need detector schematics so Alex can design the readout. How narrow is the signal from NINO cards. John Annand: it is time from threshold plus 10 ns. Long cables should not be used due to signal attenuation. Andrew asked what is the minimum threshold that can be applied on NINO card. John Annand answered that around couple of mVolts. How long is the timing response of the HCal. Gregg said it can be estimated from simulation if the cable lengths are available.
