Minutes: SBS Meeting September 19, 2012

1)	Bob Michaels gives a talk on high voltage needs:
a)	Talk is very self-contained see link
b)	Discussion:
i)	Bogdan concerned about when things will be ready
(1)	Will need 80 channels for gas Cherenkov tests in May 2013
ii)	Need manpower to do work.
(1)	Konrad volunteers a student for 2 weeks in December
(2)	Adam has students, but they can’t be at JLab until the beginning of May
2)	Robin Wines postponed

a)	BigBite detector design is going well. 
i)	Detectors are:
(1)	Front tracker (4 GEM planes)
(2)	Gas Cherenkov
(3)	1 GEM plane
(4)	Pre-shower
(5)	Coordinate detector
(6)	Total absorber
ii)	Bogdan is sending Seamus drawings
b)	Hears from Evaristo Cisbani that readout planes are coming from CERN. Will start assembling 1 
module in Catania
c)	Dubna-CMU-JLab collaboration is coming together. Now collecting signatures.
d)	Management plan calls for 6 FTE’s over 4 years from Hall A. Thia is reviewing this.
e)	Collaboration meeting 18-19 October. Need to organize, agenda, session chairs etc.
i)	Bob Michaels will setup website
ii)	Bogdan says he has a preliminary agenda.
