Minutes: SBS Meeting Aug. 7, 2013 Attendees: Bogdan Wojtsekhowski, Robin Wines, Mark Jones, Douglas Higinbothum, Carlos Gayoso, Charles Perdrisat, Alexandre Camsonne (On phone:) Brian Quinn, Seamus Riordan, Nilanga Liyanage 1) Robin Wines gave an update on the magnet and showed floor layout a) see link for talk b) Floor layout shows both HRS at 125 degrees (minimum to allow SBS and Bigbite to fit). Actually Right HRS must go to larger angle to clear truck door. c) May disconnect right HRS cryo lines (but not practical for GMn since right HRS needed for calibration.) d) SBS power supply (with heavy shielding) to be located (as show in slide 5) on beam left. Left HRS will also act as shielding. e) Heavily shielded hut will also be needed for electronics, but closer to experiment. f) Hoses for SBS cooling LCW will allow for motion of SBS. Power distribution may be flexible or have different sections of conductor used for different positions. 2) Bogdan discussed SBS annual review a) Review will be held in early November (possibly 4th and 5th). b) Will cover SBS and dependencies c) Expected talks include: Robin Wines - Engineering status John LeRose - Finance Nilanga Liyanage - GEMs Brian Quinn or Gregg Franklin - HCal possibly 3He target possibly ECal 3) Brian Quinn led discussion of new version of proposed SBS collaboration charter (version 3.11) a) Seamus points out that we should notify the Hall A collaboration coordinating committee chair (Julie Roche) that we wish to form a new working group. b) Douglas suggests simplification of the procedure for modifying the charter (implemented in version 3.2) c) It is agreed that the charter will be discussed at the next SBS weekly meeting and, if there are no objections, will be considered adopted. Brian is to publicize this in advance to give all interested parties the opportunity to attend. d) Bogdan announced names of SBS Collaboration Committee representatives agreed upon by experiment spokespersons: GEp Evaristo Cisbani GMn Brian Quinn GEn Seamus Riordan SIDIS Andrew Puckett A1n t.b.d.
