"DarkLight: looking for dark matter at the JLab Free Electron Laser" The Dark Forces explanation of dark matter predicts a low mass (0.01-10 GeV/c^2) scalar or vector boson that kinetically mixes with the photon. DarkLight will look for evidence of the dark force by search for an electron positron resonance in ep->epee scattering. The experiment makes use of the 1MW free electron laser beam, a dense H2 target and a detector able to measure all three final state leptons and the recoiling proton, allowing full reconstruction of each event. After briefly reviewing the theory, I will describe our experiment and several other experiments exploring other parts of the parameter space.
