5.5.9.6  Safety Assessment

The primary safety issues for the trigger are the safety issues related to general handling of CAMAC, Fastbus and VME modules and crates. In fact the user can inflict more damage on the hardware then the hardware can inflict on the user. A few common sense things which are to be avoided are:

1.
Power down the crates before changing modules.
2.
Never use excessive force when installing modules into crates or plugging in cables. It is easy to bend the pins in the twisted pair cable connectors.

3.
If possible, leave empty spaces between modules for cooling purposes.
