Along with the electrical
hazard, there is an associated fire hazard, due to the power usage of the
electronics. There are heat sensors above the racks and a fire protection
system underneath. The power to the racks is automatically shut off by water
flowing thru the sprinklers or by the heat sensors. Many of the crates and
power supplies are also quite heavy, posing a hazard when moving or installing
them. All power supplies that attach to their associated crates are bolted
securely to the crates to prevent them from falling. Rails have been installed
for all crates, to allow easier installation of the crates. The front plate of
each crate is attached to rails in the racks by four screws. The rails provide
additional support, but the front plate screws are adequate to support each of
the modules.
