Fire

The spectrometers (and Hall A in general) are protected by a VESDA smoke detection system. The head sensitivity of the VESDA is 0.03 to 0.003 . This corresponds to approximately 1 of full scale and the system trips at 90 full scale. The spectrometers clean power is interlocked with the VESDA system. In addition, there is a sprinkler system on both spectrometers that is temperature actuated. Finally, both detector huts have gas monitors which are sensitive to Ethane gas leaks.
