The laboratory is required to notify the DOE of
significant
incidents such as activation of an automatic sprinkler system, loss of
radioactive material, failure
of safety equipment, violation of safety procedures, significant
environmental releases such as
spills of hazardous substances, high radiation exposures or contamination,
and substance abuse.
Experimenters should notify any Physics Division personnel of such incidents.
