5.2.2.8  Standard Procedure

The following is a description of the standard data collection procedure, when the Unser and the cavities are already adjusted and calibrated. This should be the most often used procedure. Only in special situations (for instance if power fail) there will be a need to perform the extended procedure that will be described later.

Check that on the Unser box switches are as follows:

Calibration: "OFF"

Range: "B"

Test: "OFF"

Check that All three DVM are turned ON.

Check that current source for Unser is OFF. Assuming that everything is correct, you can collect current data performing the following:

=1.5pc =1 1. Open the Beam Current Monitor screen by log in hac: username=3Dhacuser password=3Dhacuser.

=1.5pc =1 2. Open a terminal by typing "HAC_xt". This opens the main control of hall A , and usually there are a couple of terminals in the counting house that are already in this configuration.

=1.5pc =1 3. Go in BEAMLINE and open the "beam charge monitors" screen This opens the bcm main screen.

=1.5pc =1 4. From this screen you can open the "OPERATION" screen which is a simplified version designed for operators.

If the old procedure using the Macintosh will be again actual than use the following commands:

1. On the Macintosh computer go to folder LabWiew Hall A

2. Click twice on icon Hall A BCM data, until it is activated.

=1.5pc =1 3. Click on arrow in left top corner, and acquisition of data will start. Data will appear on the screen as numbers and on a graph as three curves representing the two cavities and the Unser data. All data will be also saved in a file, whose name is written on the screen.

4. To stop acquisition, just press stop icon on the screen.

=1.5pc =1 5. To start acquisition again, press arrow at the top, as before. The computer will automatically change the name of the file where the new data will be saved.
