Unser/BCM scripts

There are two ways to start logging of data from BCM, Unser, Faraday Cap, ... into file. One way is to use EPICS Logger screen to Start/Stop data logging. Another one is to use script. Both ways are presented below.

Start EPICS BCM Logger

To open EPICS BCM Logger screen login from 'adaq1' as 'hacuser' to 'hacweb7' computer.
Type command:

NewTools
Select "OPS Menu" ⇒ "EDM(HLA)" ⇒ "EDM(HLA Main)"
In opened window select "BCM" ⇒ "BCM Logging"
Press "START" button to start data logging to file:
/cs/op/iocs/DATA/bcmlog/BCMLOG/BcmLog_NNN
where NNN is file number after pressing "STOP" button.

Start BCM Logger script

Login from 'adaq1' as 'hacuser' to 'hlal00' or 'hlal01' computer.
Type command:

BCM_logger
The data will be stored to text file 'BCMLOG/bcm_log_$DATE_$TIME.log' where $DATE is current date and $TIME is current time.
To stop BCM logger type in terminal:
CTRL^C
Default list of EPICS variables that will be logged into data file are defined in script ~bin/BCM_logger:

Start BCM Logger script with list of EPICS variables

Login from 'adaq1' as 'hacuser' to 'hlal00' or 'hlal01' computer.
Type command:

BCM_logger $rate $file_with_epics_variables
where:

$rate - time between readouts in seconds (1-100)
$file_with_epics_variables - file name with list of epics variables in format:

var_name_1
var_name_2
var_name_3
....
