Deadtime estimates and false asymmetries: Measure the product of the electronic and DAQ livetimes by counting the number of T7 (pulser) events are recorded as T3 (physics) events. Measure the DAQ deadtime by comparing the number of record T3 events to the total number counted by the scalers. For run 4456 (He3 production run at 8 microamps): T7's as T3's : 14449 of T7's in scalers: 19848 --> 72.8 % = DAQlt*ELlt T3's in datafile: 1772363 of T3's in scalers: 2166012 --> 81.8 % = DAQlt So the electronic livetime is 89.0 % = ELlt Given that the run was at a T1 rate of 2.5 MHz, with the pulse from the ND 50ns wide, gives an electronic deadtime estimate of 12%.
