Beam Line Overview for Hall A E93-050

Overview

Experiment E93-050 will measure Virtual Compton Scattering using a non-polarized electron beam with a nominal energy of 4.045 GeV. This page provides links to documentation for most elements of the beam line relevant to this experiment and discusses the duties of the persons responsible for monitoring beam properties during the running of the experiment.

Tasks List

The basic duty of the operator is to ensure that the beam parameters are monitored and are within acceptable ranges:

• Monitor beam position and do BSCOPE measurements every shift or after any significant period without beam to ensure that 60 Hz variations remain small.



• Monitor Raster.



• Perform current calibrations once every day. Plan ahead to minimize conflicts with other halls.



• Perform Energy measurements to monitor relative energy changes (task to be determined).
