Notes from local software meeting on 8 July 2005

Present: Rich, Bob, Bryan, Ryan, Kent, David L., Kirsten, Lisa, Hashemi, Paul, Tim

New things in software:

• Prompt analysis:
  • Dithering slopes -- can use slopes from that run or can read slopes from a file (averages over multiple runs). TODO: Script to read slopes from multiple runs and average them [HASHEMI].
  • Pair averages -- computation of dithering slopes uses averages of left and right event data stored in pair tree (enabling use of pair tree cuts).
• Multirun analysis:
  • Averages results from several root files into one root file. Will make Daily and Slug root files.
  • TODO:
    • Add dither corrections [BRYAN].
    • Generate output [RYAN].
    • Document [BRYAN].

Specific tasks to be done:

• Check out feedback [BRYAN].
• Check out beam modulation; mods for communications with other halls [KENT, BOB].
• Commission cavities -- regression and dithering [LISA].
• Check phase advance [KENT].
• New blinding string [BRYAN, LISA].

Responsibilities during run:

• Shifters: run prompt analysis (create Run root files)
• Weekly Analysis Coordinator (WAC): run multirun analysis (create Daily, Slug root files); maintain runlist
• Compilation czar: Maintain software executables for gopan directory -- check out and recompile when necessary to fix serious bugs or to add necessary functionality (and not otherwise)

TODO: Schedule WACs [RICH].

Compilation czar will be Bryan, backed up by Rich and Kent.
