keyword=trigger observationsNoticed that the rates of T1 and T3 are a factor of 2.1 and 1.7
higher than their respective S-Ray rate. (Reminder: the new T1,T3
is a simple overlap of S1,S2 scint., the S-Ray required a pattern).
The difference appears to be background, see plot. There is a lot
more stuff involving "large angles", e.g. paddle 1 with 5. There are
also about 1/2 of events with zero hits in VDCs (see lower left box).
This is unlike in the previous experiment where this trigger was tested
and had nearly same rate and qualities as S-Ray.
