    keyword=Shift Summary

Got beam and control back at 3:00 am.

Last remarks from Jack and Xavier before they left :
you MUSTN'T reboot the gasshed, the larm and the rarm IOCs otherwise
you will be dead for the rest of the weekend. MCC has to figure out what
is really wrong with the permissions on the servers on Monday.

Runs 1796 Test run acquisition without beam, testing runcontrol etc, since it
didn't finish runs properly earlier. It does now!
1797 Test run : finding prescales: used the ones from earlier good runs
    1/7500/10/7500/1
Deadtime is roughly > 60% thereafter
1798 Test run: applied the prescales after another 10 min of no beam
    1/7500/24000/7500/1
Deadtime to large, few events in left arm
1799 Test run: Using prescales 750/7500/24000/7500/1
    Deadtime < 4%
    Rate ~ 400 Hz
180k, 21 kaons - may still be good

Someone had changed ps8 to 1 - this made up almost
    all our rate.
    1800 500k, dito: 40 kaons
    1801 500k dito: 57 kaons
    1802 188k dito: 9 kaons
    1803 40k changed ps8 to 65365, took 40 K till beam went off
    About 20 kaons.
We found that one scintillator ADC signal is missing,
Left HRS S2.ADC_R_C2 has only pedestal
The corresponding TDC also has just one spike
    Called JR in.
1804 88k then made controlled access, discovered that
the cable for left HRS s2.adc_r_c2 was not plugged in
    properly.
About 36 kaons in this run.
All runs 1799-1804 have this channel missing.
    Fixed from 1805 on.
    1805 500k: 181.8 kaons.
    1806 89k: 28.6 kaons.
1807 30k for this run we changed the left vdc thresh to 3.5 since
we noted that the left vdc eff looks lowish ( ~ 90%)
Since that had no effect on the eff, we changed the left vdc thresh
    back to 4.0
    About 13 kaons.
1808 We got a call back from BW, that the vdc eff and correlation were
ok and nothing to worry about.
This run is still continuing by the end of the shift
