    keyword=Vertical beam polarization on July, 16

    On July 16, the beam spin was vertical. The 1/2WLP was IN.
    The value of the vertical beam polarization is calculated using:

    1. The full beam polarization of 76.3±0.1(stat)%, measured on July 17, when the spin was parallel to the beam.

    2. The Z and X polarization components, measured on July 16 with the vertically (in Y) polarized beam: PZ=2.0±0.2(stat)%, PX=0.6±1.3(stat)%.

    Subtracting the values in quadratures we get:
    ABS(PY)=76.3±0.1(stat)%.

    The sign of the vertical polarization was measured with a vertical foil, magnetized vertically. The Moller polarimeter accepts electrons
    scattered in the horizontal plane (or close to it). The analyzing power is AYY=+1/9 (the opposite sign with respect to AZZ and AXX). We obtain:

    PY=-76.3±0.1(stat)%.
    The meaning of the sign is the same as the meaning of the measured on July 17 PZ=-76.3±0.1(stat)% (1/2WLP IN)
    Z looks along the beam, Y looks up.
