    keyword=Helicity Magnet Results

Here is a table summarizing the data from the helicity magnet tests done
yesterday. The table values are the slopes of the position differences for
each Hall A bpm versus the setpoint on the helicity magnets, so the units are
    um/setpoint unit.

    	0L01V	0L02H	0L03V	0L03H

    4ax	0.037	-0.057	0.042	-0.067

    4ay	-0.004	0.004	-0.004	0.004

    4bx	-0.002	0.0004	-0.0007	0.001

    4by	-0.004	0.014	-0.012	0.007

BPM 4bx is relatively insensitive to all of the magnets. This is probably due
to the small jitter/beta function at 4bx. 4ax has a large response to all the
magnets, but changes sign between horizontal and vertical magnets. 4ay has the
same small response to all magnets with opposite sign between vertical and
horizontal magnets. I believe that the magnets are relatively orthogonal in
the injector, but there must be some rotation in the hall because our x
position differences respond to H and V magnets as observed in 4ax. The y
position differences also respond to both H and V magnets as observed by 4by.

We also took some oversampling runs to look at the behavior of the helicity
magnets with time. Figure 1 shows the x and y position differences at bpm 0L06
vs timeslot when all the magnets are on, but setpoints are at 0. Figure 2
shows the response of x response of bpm0L06 for the H magnets and the y
response for the V magnets. There is a big difference between the first
timeslot and the following timeslots for 0L03H, but all the distributions seem
to look fairly similar to the time dependence when the helicity magnets are not
    being pulsed.
