keyword=bpm 12 wires not saturating for run 4665 and 4664The operating mode of the bpm in the fastfeedback loop (8 to 20) has been changed from manual to automatic mode since ~3:30 up to now (see next entry). It has lead to case where the wires are reading larger adc signals (~55000) than usual (~40000) but do not saturate.
To check this I plotted adc7_0_cal against event number for both runs 4665 and 4664 (see figures) The wires are not saturating. I think the pinguin shows raw adc values that are more difficult to read (because of the DAC noise). Saturation with the raw value appears above 63k below 60K is fine.
I think automatic mode is the way to go if we can get the average wire reading a little lower than what it is this night. Also it seems that the gain is maybe to sensitive to beam trips. I'll talk to
R. Dickson about this tomorrow.
