    If there really is a double pulse on T1, and 50% apparent deadtime, it is almost certainly
    due to the classic problem that someone has plugged in a cable to the trigger output, or
    scalers (e.g. used a NIM/ECL as a fanout), and this cable is longish, and this cable goes
    NOWHERE, so you get a reflection. This sloppiness can be avoided by looking at places on
    a scope and watching for second pulses. So you simply have to hunt for this illegal cable.
