    keyword=Status of Hall A

Hall A was in restricted access today for a planned survey and
configuation change. This was planned despite the fact that the targets
    were still warmed up.

The hall was opened up to restricted access at about 09:00 after a survey
which commenced at or about 08:00 today. The surveyers proceeded to
survey the harps (at least 1H03B) and both spectrometers. After the
survey of the spectrometers, they were moved to the next desired angle
setting 120 degrees. The surveyers were finished by about 14:30 and the
spectrometer angles were set by 15:30

Dave Meekins delivered new gas bottles for the helium target. He removed
the empty bottles from the hall.

Jack Segal and Heidi Fransler worked on the HRS-R Q1 flow signal, which
appears to be fixed!. Jack would like to spend some more time working on
    various HRS-R issues.

John Musson also installed some BCM cavities. He needs to figure out
where the signals from these cavities need to be sent.

The hall was cleared by Hall A technical staff by 16:30 and a sweep was
requested. After the sweep was completed and the hall returned to Beam
Permit, MCC began tuning beam back to the Hall A line. This began around
17:00. By 19:00 MCC had restored beam delivery to Hall A, through the
compton chicane, and we commenced with a harp scan while we waited for
the 0L02 expert to come for the BCM calibrations for Hall A & C.

The harp scan was interrupted by the 0L02 calibration. It will be picked
up after we finish the BCM calibration.

The work for the shift is as follows:

    1) 0L02 calibration (MCC)
    2) BCM calibration for Hall A BCM's
    3) Harp Scan (50-200uA tolerance)
    4) Bull's-Eye scan
    5) Restore raster to 2x2mm (or there abouts)

It is likely this work will be finished by the end of the shift. Since
the target operator is not needed (the target is warm) he is dismissed
for the Owl Shift. The 3rd team member is also dismissed, with the Shift
Leader on-call for the shift. We will take a cosmics run over the
    duration of the Owl Shift.

The target cool-down is expected to commence during Day Shift tomorrow,
so the Day Shift target operator IS expected to report to the Counting
    House at 08:00.
