The lower Fastbus crate was running hot. I removed the filter, it was pretty clogged up. The -2V supply could not be adjusted above -1.85V and was emitting a high pitched whine. It was replaced. All the voltages on this crate and the one above it were checked and adjusted to the nominal values. The voltages seemed stable on the DMM I was using. The thresholds to the wire chambers were at 0V. The thresholds were set and the crates ran without rebooting. The power cord on the CAMAC crate was the original cord. It was in very bad shape. I replaced it with a smaller gauge cord. If I trust the display on the AC power distribution unit, the crate is only drawing about 4 amps. Things should be ok. When I looked at it, the original cord was cool to the touch. The replacement cord also seems to be operating cool to the touch. Perhaps the original cord developed a bad contact on the plug and began to overheat. If it was making intermittent contact perhaps this caused the fuse to blow. We will have an opportunity on Tuesday to look at it more closely. For now, keep an eye on it.
