Spare 42 degree 3He cell for experiment d2n has been prepared. Cell name is 'MOSS'. Below is some information on the cell:

Peter's words from Jan 14, 2008:

I performed a calibrated spinup (EPR + temperature test) & pumped with 1 Comet & 1 FAP. The attached fit uses Jaideep's double exponential formalism with the following fit coefficients.

Pmax = 63.88 +- .052 %
Tslow = 5.35 +- .034 hrs Po = -15.72 +- .067 % Tfast = .66 +- .064 hrs Cpc = -12.83 +- .40 %

The cell has an approximate lifetime of 33 hrs (I've only taken 15 hours of data so far) and a high alkali polarization (~98% as measured using the EPR photodiode). The maximum acutally measured 3He polarization was 63.12% and the 3He is at approximately 264C in the pumping chamber.
