Thanks to a level converter generously provided by Alexandre, I was able to add two variables to our scalers: the MPS signal (now in scaler #5) and a copy of the trigger generated by the photon detector signal (now in scaler #6). This last is the same trigger used for our triggered mode.
I increased the threshold on the discriminator used to generate the
trigger from -30 mV to -50 mV. We'll see over the next day and a half
whether this is a reasonable level for cutting out low-energy noise while
retaining Compton events. If it isn't, I will change the threshold again
during Tuesday beam studies.
