    Once we were in production, I performed a vertical scan of the Compton chicane with the help of MCC, to maximize the interaction between the electron beam and the Compton photon beam. Fig. 1 shows the results (Compton gamma rate in blue, electron beam y position in goldenrod). We see a S:N ratio of 10:1.

    The orbit lock was set at -0.88, which appears to be the same set value that was determind in the last vertical scan. Before this scan, the orbit lock was turned off entirely, which should not be done if we want good Compton data -- the interaction point is very small and the signal gets bad if we let the electron beam drift inside the chicane.

    Note for experts: The power in the cavity seems to vary sinusoidally with a period of something like a minute and a half and an amplitude of 100 W. That doesn't seem right.
