the asym_n_det1 and asym_bcm1 values are different. do not understand how the 
regress works, but the cuts on asym_n_det2 pan gives values very close to the 
regress values, and the ev_num cuts on both seem to be the same as well. why 
would the asym_n_det1 values change so much between pan and pan_regress??
