Run Plan

1. Take production data! Watch the lumi widths to see if anything changes. Please check the histograms on the online data monitor with the reference ones on the shift how-to page (http://hallaweb.jlab.org/experiment/HAPPEX/opmanual/opmanual.html#HPXStartingonlineanalysis).
2. Take Compton data!
3. Change the half-wave plate state when we get to 1M good pairs. Follow the instructions for doing this and running the flipper script here: http://hallaweb.jlab.org/experiment/HAPPEX/opmanual/opmanual.html#ChangingHalfWavePlate
• The Flipper script has been fixed, so please go ahead and use it.
4. A couple of our shift workers will need to be escorted on the accelerator site tonight. At 4:00pm, one of the shift workers will have to escort Vincenzo Bellini in for his shift from the guard house, and at midnight, one of the shift workers will have to escort Antonio Giusa,
5. It is currently scheduled that the beam will be taken away at 7:00am. During the downtime, we will be in controlled access. I'll be posting an access plan in a little while, and if you would like to added into it, please let me know!
6. Run spot++ every couple of hours and log it. Change the prescale factor PS8 to 1 and PS1 and 2 to 99999.
7. Beam Time Accounting: accept the beam unless the Compton people say that they just cannot use it. Then record it as BNA.

Concerns

• The BTA program doesn't subtract any time to speak of for beam trips. Please manually subtract a full minute for each beam trip in the beam time accounting.
• Please write a detailed shift summary (including runs taken and any activities) and submit the BTA for each shift.
• Please make sure that the shift checklist is done once each shift.
• Keep a close eye on the lumi widths as we take data.
• Please continue to take runs even if there is no beam. These data can be used to determine pedestals. Please label these runs as having no beam.
• A WAC schedule is being created and will be posted so that I know who is doing this, which will be a Good Thing.
• The dithering looks non-invertible. Someone should look at this.
• There is a constant alarm due to unused VDCs. This alarm should be removed so that people don't become desensitized to the alarm handler.
