Position Scan Run Plan
The point of this scan is to make sure that we are not hitting the
aluminum with the beam by figuring out where the aluminum is. Do not
spend more that 2 hours on this scan.
- This scan should be done at 10 muA. Turn off the dithering.
- Start at nominal run position, centered on the C-hole target.
- Try to get raster to 6 x 6 mm.
- Then:
- Turn on S0 HV on left arm
- Take spot++ at ~10 uA.
- Verify raster size, also uniformity of shape (usual
bedposts, no
other structure evident)
- Turn OFF S0 HV on left arm.
- Take 15000 Good pairs at 10 uA (or whatever Dustin says is good).
- Repeat steps 4) and 5) at each of 4 positions, +/-2 mm in x, +/-2mm
in y
from nominal. If you do not see an increase in the rate, go another 2 mm
out.
- Don't forget to turn the dithering back on when you are finished!
