Charge History (85.4C as of 09:30 today).

We accepted 5.5C over the past 24 hours. 5.5/8.6 ==> 64% efficiency. Note that this efficiency is approaching our max. We did not take production data for 1 hour yesterday while we setup phase advance. This implies that potentially we could have run at 64*(24/23)=67% efficiency at best (which is lower than needed!). This stresses the fact that we need to stay as efficient as possible and not waste any beamtime...

Shift crews need to be keenly aware of the DAQ status (no wasted time between end of run and starting new runs) as well as the quality of the data coming in (look at the data online to identify any problems quickly, e.g BCM12 saturation); dithering and feedback systems need to be on all the time. Also, if there are DAQ problems (ROC crashes, etc.) these need to be fixed ASAP--if the shift worker cannot quickly (within 5min or so) fix these problems, an expert (or run coordinator) needs to be notified immediately. I'm not saying anything like this has happened recently, I just want people to be aware that, in order for us to reach our charge goal, we need to push our efficiency to the limit, and little things like this can add up to significant gains over the course of the experiment. Keep up the good work.
