Run Coordinator's Report for Thursday December 9 Day through Friday
10 Owl
Summary
- There is an open day shift on Monday, December 14, 2009, and a
few open shifts 18-22 December.
Please sign up!
Beam is scheduled to turn off at 07:00 on 22 December.
- During day shift, we took a set of Moller measurements, including the
beam current scan and the laser phase study. See HALog
305990 for a summary.
- During swing shift, we took a set of multifoil and single foil carbon
runs, and a set of aluminum dummy target runs.
We collected about 2 hours of 50 uA data on the dummy target for PV
background measurements from the aluminum.
See these HALog entries for the Q2 and W plots for the
multifoil 12C target, single 12C target , and aluminum dummy target.
- At the end of swing shift through the first quarter of owl shift, there
was an extended down due to RF problems. Some additional work related
to the recovery from this will need ot be done today (to try to keep it
from failing over the weekend).
- We achieved 14 hours of ABU in the last 24 hrs. Slug 21 was begun at
9am on 9 December; as of the end of owl shift, it had 546.5k good pairs.
Run Plan
- The beam is currently down due to a valve problem in SL.
- After recovery, the plan for today and the weekend is to take
production
data on the LD2 target.
- The IHWP will need to be flipped (and the flipper script run)
when we
get 10^6 good pairs.
Shift crew should speak with Hall B and determine a specific time about
4 hours before it needs to happen.
Be sure you have an expert available to do the flip at that time.
Call the RC if there are problems.
- We may do the boiling study and a BCM calibration run over
the weekend, but
they may be delayed until early next week.
