Run Coordinator's Report for Monday 14 December Swing through Tuesday
15 December Day
Summary
- There are several open shifts 19-22 December:
19 December owl leader,
20 December owl leader,
21 December owl leader,
22 December owl leader,
22 December owl TO,
22 December owl worker.
The beam delivery for physics will end at 07:00 on
December 22.
Please sign up for the open shifts, if you are able!
During Monday swing shift, an access was taken to investigate and
fix the
hole in the LHRS wide-efficiency.
See HALog 307043 for the description of what was done.
Afterward, we continued production for SLUG 23.
Tuesday owl continued production for SLUG 23.
At the beginning of day shift, the target temperature readback unit
got stuck, and did not respond to the IOC reboot.
The target was mostly boiled off. J.P. made an access to reset
the controller, and we recooled the target.
See HALog
307183 for his summary.
During the target recovery, we flipped the IHWP to IN, moving to
SLUG 24. SLUG 23 ended with 919.6k good pairs.
Since the target boil-off and recooling, the target chamber
vacuum has been higher than typical. It is not increasing
steadily, so we don't think this is due to a leak, but it probably
due to gas frozen on the outer surfaces which were redistributed by
the partial warmup.
We achieved 16.9
hours of ABU from Monday swing through the end of Tuesday day.
At the end of Tuesday day, SLUG 24 had 143.3k good pairs (as of run
14688).
Run Plan
- Continue taking production data on the LD2 target.
- We plan to take a Moller measurement on Wednesday, beginning about
10:00.
- The pass change to 4-pass will be on Thursday; the beam will stop about
07:00, and we will move to Restricted access to begin the survey of
the LHRS and the spectrometer moves.
We intend to try to close the hall by the end of day shift on
Thursday.
While we are moving the spectrometers, OPS will be setting up the
machine
to deliver 4-pass beam to Hall A and 1-pass beam to Hall B.
The Wein angle will be set 90 degrees to deliver longitudinal beam to
Hall A (Hall B does not need polarization for the 1 pass data).
Requests
- There are several open shifts 18-22 December:
19 December owl leader,
20 December owl leader,
21 December owl leader,
22 December owl leader,
22 December owl TO,
22 December owl worker.
The beam delivery for physics will end at 07:00 on
December 22.
Please sign up for open shifts, if you are able!
- Shift Leaders: please write a detailed shift summary
(
here is a great example)
and submit the BTA for each shift.
Please log CODA reboots in the halog and shift summary.
- 3rd person: Please make sure to start and stop the HRS DAQ at the
same time as
the parity DAQ and to do the prompt analysis and the HRS analyzer
for every run.
- 3rd person: please keep a careful eye on the online data display.
Most problems
can be caught quickly this way.
- Please make sure that the shift checklist is done once each shift.
