I changed the following lines in the bta script to run from jlabs1 instead:

ssh jlabs1 /group/accsft/bta/btaCUE.csh A >/dev/null & 2> /dev/null &
#trying on jlabs2 ! ( can log in without password )
#ssh jlabs2 /group/accsft/bta/btaCUE.csh A >/dev/null & 2> /dev/null &

This currently appears to be working.
